ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Maintenance Engineer’s primary responsibility is to identify failed components, repair or replace said components, and reassemble the equipment.
The Maintenance Engineer is capable of distinguishing between hardware and software problems in multi-vendor systems.
The Maintenance Engineer is expected to communicate questions or issues with the customer.
The Maintenance Engineer is expected to work within cross-functional teams and/or individually.
Active Secret Clearance preferred for this position.

PRIMARY DUTIES: Assist with inventory in-bound shipments of reset equipment and systems Perform testing, troubleshooting, repair and replacement of lowest replaceable units (LRUs) Disassemble equipment down to and below LRU items for cleaning, calibration, repair and to be re-assembled and tested accordingly Perform calibration and satellite testing of reset systems Ability to stand for the entire shift, work with hand tools, power tools, and small to large parts Will be required to be able to lift up to 50-lbs SKILLS REQUIRED: Must have hands on experience performing bench testing and repair of Satellite and Networking equipment and troubleshooting satellite voice and data networks.
Must have the ability to provide technical content on proposals for VSAT equipment.
Ability to work in a fast-paced technical environment with minimal supervision.
Possess technical writing/editing and oral communication skills and be able to interact comfortably and professionally with the client and senior management.
Must be able to read and comprehend design and installation documents associated with the implementation of VSAT networks.
Ability to work well in a team environment and/or independently, with limited direction, to meet schedule and objectives.
Must have an understanding and working knowledge of Up/Down Converters, High Power Amplifiers (HPAs), Low Noise Amplifiers (LNAs), Low Noise Block (LNB); Waveguide (rigid, flex, and elliptical) joints and connections; Intermediate Frequency (IF) cable and connections; Antenna, Antenna motors, Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPA), Antenna Control Unit (ACU), and associated cabling and interconnects; Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS); Generator (if applicable).
Shall have knowledge of how to use Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) equipment, power meter, spectrum analyzer or multi-meter.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Minimum of three-year experience operating and managing SATCOM-based satellite systems (hubs and remote terminals).
Minimum of three-year experience monitoring and controlling SATCOM systems and associated services.
Minimum three-years’ experience with repairs or refurbishment/repair of SATCOM or SATCOM related equipment.
Minimum of three years’ experience operating and maintaining iDirect and/or LinkWay satellite networks Minimum of one year of Cisco routing experience.
CCNA desirable.
Experience administering computer systems (Windows/Unix/Linux) desirable.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to move equipment between storage and work facility Ability to stand for the entire shift.
Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and small to large parts.
