Summary: Provide overall on-site management on construction project site.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Supervise specific construction efforts to ensure project is in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
Plan, coordinate and supervise onsite functions (scheduling, engineering, material control, and may provide day-to-day direction of onsite administrative staff in accounting, purchasing, etc.
).
Supervise craft employees and/or other contractors as required by the contract.
Assist Project Superintendents in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards, etc.
Ensure all onsite personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, etc.
Document all violations, notify project management, and recommend/implement corrective actions as required.
Assume responsibility for productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance of the project.
Perform additional assignments per Project Superintendent’s direction.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Manage 1 to 5 subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 1 to 7 employees in the field operations.
Requirements: Overall knowledge and experience in site work construction such as earthmoving, dewatering, underground utility construction, road, and parking lot construction & surveying.
Willingness to travel out of town or state.
Education and Experience: Minimum of four years Heavy Civil Earthwork construction management and/or craft supervision experience.
Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods); craft agreements, jurisdiction, cost control schedules and safety required.
Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills essential.
Safety Considerations: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use talk or hear and taste and smell.
The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger; handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
The employee is occasionally required to sit; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must frequently lift/carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and vibration.
The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and risk of radiation.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Employee is required to wear personal protective equipment to include (but not limited to) hard hat, work boots, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection and similar.
Employee must have valid driver’s license, good driving record and must be approved prior to driving company owned or leased vehicles.
May work 12 hours per day, 6-7 days per week in extreme hot and cold environments.
Wears all required personal protective equipment on daily basis.
May be exposed to poisonous snakes, insects and similar.
May be required to work on variable terrain in performance of duties.
May be required to operate motor vehicle.
Routinely lifts/carries up to 25 pounds unassisted on daily basis.
Must maintain integrity of the job site.
May be required to work at night.
