Job Summary
The Test Area Equipment Specialist will apply various technologies to test and modify manufacturing machinery and equipment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Ensures quality and consistency in production processes by assessing, modifying, and/or calibrating equipment.
Service all test area support equipment: testers, harnesses, jigs, tools and infrastructure.
Responsible for inventory, preventive maintenance, repairs, calibration and ordering parts for testers, harnesses, jigs and tools.
Responsible for thermal chambers, vibs, power, etc.
(verification of calibration, and schedule maintenance as needed)
Ensures efficiency and productivity by evaluating and modifying production processes and/or equipment.
Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves issues with equipment, devices, or products; uses precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to make adjustments.
Handle proper organization of all equipment, that will allow
Rework failures using support from CATS Engineering team or Rafael team if needed.
Preventive maintenance of harnesses and jigs will be concluded with Engineering.
Logistic organization and maintenance of all spare parts (testers, harnesses, connectors, wires, back shells etc.
) using support from Operations or Purchasing if required.
Cable test design for existing and new harnesses.
Assists engineers with tasks related to development, construction, and evaluation of prototypes, new products, operations, and/or procedures.
Ensures compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and best practices.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
Associate’s degree required or other formal education in electronics.
Minimum of 5 years Electrical/Mechanical assembly experience.
Certification in high reliability electronic assembly processes, per J-STD-001, IPC-A-610 & IPC/WHMA-A-620
Experience in inspecting various types of items (mechanical, electrical and hardware.
)
Read and comprehend engineering drawings, specifications, technical documentation, and contracts.
Defense industry experience is a plus.
Basic Employment Requirements
Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, capable of multitasking.
Ability to interpret various forms of assembly documentation.
Must be focused and have high attention to detail.
Must possess excellent time management skills, with proven ability to meet deadlines.
Must be authorized to work in the US and be eligible to obtain a passport.
Must pass Security background screening process.
Ability to handle materials safely and lift up to 50 lbs.
Become a functional and dependable part of a team.
Must be able to work over-time as needed.
