We are seeking a Pipe Fitter / Pipe Welder to support our Orlando, FL team in overhaul and repair of company parts.
Job Responsibilities Person must be able to perform layout and fit-up of pipe and fittings for designed specifications on prints and to customer requirements.
Person must have a good understanding of weld symbols and to perform welds that can pass x-ray standards in accordance of B31.
1, B31.
3 & PED Person should be able to understand and perform layout of holes and proper angles of pipe to reflect customer requirements and prints.
Person must stamp with welder ID marking on welds to identify and trace welder preforming the task.
Person must conform to the GTE safety guidelines.
Equipment to be used but not limited to forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, (jib and gantry).
Person must do daily housekeeping of work area and maintain and keep tooling in clean and working condition.
Person is required to work safely; safety glasses must be worn at all times while in the shop or manufacturing area.
Leather closed toe shoes or boots are required in manufacturing areas and hard toe boots are recommended for weld areas.
Welding Materials using the correct materials to join the metal together.
Checking finished work to make sure it falls within the tolerances marked on the blueprints.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Keep records and maintain inventory of the parts Required Skills / Knowledge Person must be able to perform layout and fit-up of pipe and fittings for designed specifications on prints and to customer requirements Person must be proficient in blueprint reading and work from verbal instructions Person must be proficient in using various hand tools; drill press, port-a-band saw, hand drills, angle and bench grinders Experience Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Fitting and welding pipe per ASME IX/PED Education Requirements Community college or Technical school Physical Requirements Lift heavy-weight metals, 50 lbs.
