Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems in residential and commercial buildings
- Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings to determine the layout of plumbing systems
- Assemble and install pipes, fittings, valves, and fixtures
- Collaborate with contractors, construction workers, electricians, and other professionals to ensure proper installation of plumbing systems
- Test plumbing systems for leaks and other issues using pressure gauges and other tools
- Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, and water heaters
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as clearing clogged drains and pipes
- Adhere to safety standards and building codes throughout the installation and repair process
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a plumber or completion of an apprenticeship program
- Strong knowledge of power tools and their safe usage in plumbing work
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and construction drawings
- Familiarity with construction estimating for plumbing projects
- Proficiency in construction plumbing techniques including pipefitting, soldering, welding, and brazing
- Excellent problem-solving skills to identify issues and provide effective solutions
- Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting and work in tight spaces as required by the job
- Mechanical knowledge to understand the functioning of plumbing systems and diagnose problems accurately
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
