Purpose of Position
Lead, Oversee and operate Laser Screed and Grading equipment as well as attachments, hardware, and software.
Ensuring all these items are in top working order, properly maintained and updated and in optimal safe working order.
Supervise, train and mentor all direct reports as needed.
Advise and ensure timely parts are ordered and proper maintenance schedules are adhered to.
Coordinate and support equipment manager and finishing lead in day-to-day operations.
Work closely with all personnel ensuring Company key Mission, Vision and Core Values are maintained and pushed down to direct reports.
Operate and Transport Equipment if needed to support operations and the Team.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Significant experience is required with no less than 5 years combined experience in the relevant field.
This position requires superior organizational, supervisory and communication skills.
Self-motivated individual that is detail oriented with the ability to complete multiple tasks with consistency and accuracy on the finishers/operators/ equipment Team.
Exceptional follow-up skills are required, and the candidate should possess the ability to adapt to change.
Communication skills include verbal as well as written.
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor others.
Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory and compliance guidelines and practices.
Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of safety practices.
PC skills include the use of Office software, Outlook, Cost codes, Schedules, Cost analysis.
Strategic thinking, identifying, and resolving potential problems is a must.
Must provide or be able to obtain OSHA 30-hour certification and CPR/First Aid certification.
Knowledge of Grading equipment, Laser Screeds, finishing equipment, FF/FL Knowledge.
Maintain up to date training on equipment and equipment maintenance (including software updates and re-calls) as well as any operational certificates for operators.
Forward thinking (drives for continuous improvement).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Operator Management: Exercise Good Leadership, well planned out, organized and with good communication.
Assign operators to projects daily, provide annual reviews and feedback on potential promotions.
Assist with hiring by identifying and interviewing potential candidates.
Equipment Maintenance/Procurement: Ensure that all grading, excavation, laser screeds, and related equipment are well maintained and serviced as required.
Verify that operators are completing daily asset inspections and reporting deficiencies.
Assist in managing the routine maintenance of T&T Operator used equipment.
Stay up to date on new equipment and technologies in these areas.
Assist with training operators on new and current equipment.
Assist with identifying new equipment needs and updates to equipment inventory as necessary.
Equipment/Operator Coordination: Work with team members, including but not limited to, Equipment Manager, General Superintendent, Project Managers, and Superintendents daily to deploy operators and equipment to meet project needs.
Ensure that the appropriate and properly trained personnel are assigned to projects as well as the appropriate equipment for the required tasks.
Budgeting/Production Tracking: Work with regional and project leadership to manage budgets for both projects and the equipment department as a whole.
Manage a system of production tracking for operators to help ensure that project goals are met.
Track and record other information relevant to production such as concrete yields on flatwork, concrete yields on foundations, FF/FL numbers, etc.
Compliance and Safety: Promote positive safety culture and assist to prevent/investigate incidents for your crews (vehicle accidents, personal injury, and general liabilities).
Provide mentoring and teaching in the trade to support the company’s safety policy for the team members.
Ensure a healthy, respectful, and safe working environment with the proper safety equipment for the crew members.
Quality: Ensure jobs are properly planned for and set up for success from the job start up until completion.
Monitor production and quality metrics to ensure that standards and goals are being achieved daily.
Identify and correct any quality issues resulting from equipment or operator problems.
Assist with resolution of any quality defects to ensure client and owner satisfaction.
