We are looking for the right fit to fill an opening for a Lead Estimator who will be responsible for: assigning work to estimating staff and overseeing the progress of estimates, reviewing details with the Estimator to help finalize for bidding, and ensuring procedures follow company standards.
What we offer you: 100% company paid health and dental insurance/90% company paid dependent coverage 401k with company match 25% of employee contributions max 6% Eligible for pension plan after 1 year of service with company contribution of 3% 6 paid holidays 3 weeks of PTO in 1 year or prorated depending on start date Various Aflac programs Employee recognition events Vehicle allowance or company vehicle and fuel card Pay Scale: $81,640 - $95,000 per year depending on experience + performance incentive plan Job Duties: Forward requests for quotations and update the bid schedule Assign jobs to estimators, monitor progress, and ensure schedules are met Determine the most competitive bid approach with the Executive team Implement the project bidding and strategy plan effectively Review consistency with bid objectives Review estimates for completeness Analyze labor rates, indirect labor, and expenses for bid preparation Attend pre-bids, walk-throughs, and related meetings Establish a professional relationship with customers, engineers, and general contractors Assist in bidding to general contractors and develop communications with parties receiving quotes Develop a procedure and policy for maintaining bid files and records Oversee work of direct reports and provide regular communication Actively pursue and generate business opportunities Be willing to work necessary hours to complete job duties accurately Required Qualifications: 5 years of experience in project estimating and bidding Strong knowledge of the Accubid computer estimating system Knowledge of methods and labor units for proper application and procedures Understanding of project general conditions, bidding requirements, bonding, and insurance Ability to read and understand all types of construction plans and specifications Working knowledge of trade terms, materials, methods, codes, contracts, and specification language Approach to estimating that is coordinated, consistent, thoughtful, accurate, and versatile enough to adapt to each type of project Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining effective reasoning and judgment Great verbal, written, communication, and people skills Ability to capitalize on opportunities Preferred Qualifications: 8 years of experience in project estimating and bidding
