As a teacher assistant you will be an integral part of each student's education and will help motivate them towards success here at Sonshine School!
*Responsibilities*
* Maintain classroom safety at all times
* Close observation of students while on the playground
* Assist in designing and following lesson plans and age-appropriate activities
* Provide basic hygiene needs for students (changing diapers/pull-ups, wiping faces/noses, washing hands, etc.
)
* Include a variety of tools to create engaging lessons and learning opportunities (books, technology, fine and gross motor skills, and more).
* Evaluate each student's performance to make ensure they are on the track to success.
* Remain in open communication with parents and update them on the progress of their student(s)
* Promote comradery among students
* Identify behavioral challenges and discuss plan moving forward with director and parents
* Collaborate with colleagues
* Adhere with teaching standards and safety regulations as established by Sonshine School and DCF
*Skills*
* Certified in First Aid and CPR
* Experience as a child care/daycare teacher or assistant teacher (plus)
* Excellent communication and time management skills
* Knowledge of child development
* Takes initiative in classroom management, lesson planning, and maintaining a safe and clean learning environment.
* Creative
* Maintains an attitude of patience, flexibility and love for all children
* Demonstrates problem solving skills
