Job Title: Medical Front Desk Specialist
Eye Physicians of Central Florida, a Division of FPA is looking for a Medical Front Desk Specialist to join their growing team.
The Medical Front Desk Specialist is responsible for a number of administrative duties as well as providing exceptional customer service and communication to patients and family members.

Qualifications
Education and Training
High School Diploma or GED required
OSHA, HIPPA, Compliance Training
Experience
2+ years’ experience working as a Medical Front Desk Specialist
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products
Experience with practice management, patient registration and scheduling systems
Bilingual a plus (Spanish)
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Specific
Welcoming patients, families and visitors in a friendly, courteous and caring manner.
Performs administrative and general office functions including, but not limited to, copying, filing, faxing and data entry.
Answer telephone calls, provides information, screens and routes telephone calls to the appropriate person or department.
Schedule patient appointments, follow-ups, diagnostic tests, and other health related appointments.
Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits.
Obtain patient authorizations as needed.
Responsible for the Patient Check In process to include:
Obtaining, or verifying and updating patient demographic information
Insurance information in the PM system
Obtain patient consent for treatment
Responsible for Patient Check Out process to include:
Collect patient payments ,including, copayments, deductibles, coinsurance and any outstanding patient due balance amounts.
Provide patient receipts
End of the day reconciliation process, may be responsible for balancing and reporting daily receipts
Documents in PM System.
May be responsible for chart prep of scheduled appointments.
Utilizes interpersonal skills to optimize medical practice satisfaction rate by effectively and carefully communicating with patients and providers.
Understand and follow applicable Federal and Florida State laws and regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles related to patient HIPPA Privacy and Security.
General
